Peer 2 Peer Mindfulness Community Online Group Practice:
Living mindfully - with Inner Peace Tuesday 13th July
Living mindfully is said to be 'Living in the present moment'. A definition of this is being (1) 'deliberately aware of (2) what's happening, as it's happening, (3) without preference for what's happening to be different'. This 'without preference' is a state of awareness without judgment, and is what trips us up in our desire to find inner peace in a chaotic world.
In Tuesday night's mindfulness session we will be practicing noticing how the mind’s automatic tendency towards preference brings us distress by dwelling and catastrophising on what's happening. With this we learn how to choose to redirect our mind towards a more detached outlook about what's happening for the benefit of ourselves and everyone we interact with.
