Mindfully Living with Grief & Loss Course

Thank you very much for booking a place on our 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' course.

Our intention is to provide you, as a course participant, a safe and supportive environment to learn a set of essential life skills which can enable you to better manage the natural emotional suffering which you can be experiencing from your grief and loss.
To help us attain our intention, would you be so kind as to read, complete and submit the form below?

The 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' Course - week 1 Session
The week 1 session of the 9-week 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' course will provide you with a full explanation of mindfulness and what will happen at each of the following weekly sessions, along with your first mindfulness training practices.

The week-1 session of the 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' course will be held on Saturday, 23rd May 2020, at 9.45 am the Borders General Hospital Chaplaincy Centre. TD6 9BS.

Is this 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' course suitable for you at this time?
The course is suitable for most people, and teaches skills and practices designed to help with the emotional and physical challenges we experience through our grief and loss.

This is the time to consider whether the course is right for you at this time, and if you have any doubts, please contact us and we will give you more information about the course, to help you to make this decision.

Please note that that whilst this 'Mindfully Living with Grief and Loss' course can provide you with enormous benefits to your well-being by equipping you with essential skills and techniques for better managing the emotional and physical challenges you can be experiencing through your grief and loss, it is not intended to be a treatment for mental health problems. If you have recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health problem, we strongly advise that you obtain approval from your mental health professional before proceeding further with this course at this time.

Also, if you have experienced a very recent traumatic life event such as the death of a close family member or friend, a separation from a long term partner, or job redundancy, this may not be the right time for you to continue with the course. This very much depends on your current psychological health and the support networks that you have around you, such as friends, family and mental health professionals.

If you are currently taking medication for a mental health problem, then we recommend that you do not change your medication, other than in close collaboration with your medication prescriber.

If any of these circumstances apply to you, then if you have not done so already, please contact Peer 2 Peer mindfulness before the course begins to discuss your situation and the support networks you have in place and to explore how you can best be supported during the course.
