Peer 2 Peer Mindfulness 8 week Course
Free of Charge - Everyone is welcome.

This Mindfulness eight week course is based on the Mindfulness Association’s Level 1 Mindfulness Training.
It consists of weekly classes, which are typically two hours long.

This course will introduce you to the basic principles of mindfulness and support you in developing the core skill of mindfulness: a way of paying attention, on purpose, non-judgmentally to what goes on in the present moment within your body, mind and the world around you.

Mindfulness is an natural capacity of the mind which helps you to be aware of the present moment, in a non-judgemental way, instead of worrying about the past or future. It promotes a way of being that helps us to take better care of ourselves and lead healthier lives. It also enables us to access inner resources for coping effectively with stress, difficulty and illness.

Mindfulness can bring calmness to our minds, increase resilience, and improve our emotional well-being.

Peer 2 Peer Mindfulness for Compassionate Living
Mindful ways to less stress and more kindness.

Self-compassion is a life-changing way of thinking that is rooted in Mindfulness. By learning to have more kindness and forgiveness for ourselves, we have more compassion and empathy for others.

Research into the neuroscience of compassion has shown that changing our thinking habits makes new neural pathways in the brain and that compassion can be learned.

The benefits of this four month course are personal and global, from learning to manage chronic pain to relieving stress, boosting the immune system and circulation, along with improving relationships as we connect more authentically with others.

If you have already attended an 8 week course and have an established daily mindfulness practice, the Mindfulness Compassionate Living Course is the next step in applying loving kindness first to yourself, then others, releasing negative attitudes and living joyfully from the heart.

Peer 2 Peer Mindfulness walk
Free of Charge - Everyone is welcome.

Regular Mindfulness practice is the foundation for mind-body wellness and a consciousness-based approach to life. The daily practice of mindfulness can improve the quality of relationship skills and sleep, enhance concentration, reduce stress, and provide a deeper connection to your true spirit.

However, daily mindfulness practice doesn’t have to mean sitting passively. Mindful walking is an active practice that requires you to be consciously aware and moving in the environment rather than sitting down with your eyes closed. It’s a simple and comfortable form of meditation that can be particularly valuable for newcomers or anyone who prefers a more active form of this practice.

Mindful walking can lead to a unique set of benefits compared with sitting practice bringing you closer to nature as well as your body. Here are eight reasons to try mindful walking.

  1. It connects You more deeply with your environment. This practice helps us to feel more connected to the environment of which we are an inseparable part.
  2. It gets you out of your head. Taking a walk outdoors can break you out of a mental fog or a perpetual train of thought.
  3. It allows you to commune with nature. Mindful walking is an excellent opportunity to be in touch with the natural world.
  4. It helps you get to know your body. Walking mindfully establishes a deeper connection between mind and body, helping you to embrace your body as it moves through space.
  5. It strengthens concentration. Mindful walking takes place in an environment filled with potential distractions all fighting for your attention.
  6. It increases your awareness of intention. By walking mindfully, we cultivate a deeper understanding of our intentions through conscious movement, one step at a time.
  7. It expands everyday mindfulness. Walking meditation is a practice; it’s a skill that develops over time.
  8. It helps you connect to the present moment. As you walk and become increasingly aware, the mind grows quieter.

A Peer 2 Peer 'mindfulness walk’ in the beautiful Scottish Borders offers you a chance to slip into a slower gear and appreciate the outdoors. Book your place on a walk today an join us for a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

The Drop-In Sessions are a great way to be in touch with others who are practicing mindfulness, and also of course, to help keep your practice alive.
There is no charge for the sessions, although obviously it does cost money to run it, so any donations are very gratefully received. Tea and biscuits are provided when you arrive and at the end.
